Federación de Centros Agrícolas y Organizaciones Campesinas del Ecuador
La federación de centros agrícolas y organizaciones campesinas del litoral, nació en el año 2003, somos pequeños agricultores organizados para luchar por los intereses de los agricultores, fomentando una agricultura alternativa, libre de productos tóxicos, sin la dependencia de tiendas de agroquímicos, buscando el buen vivir para las familias campesinas, separándonos de una organización de grandes productores terratenientes que se agrupan en las Cámaras de Agricultura del Ecuador, de la cual fuimos víctimas de la utilización y manipulación durante décadas para garantizar sus intereses económicos. El litoral o costa ecuatoriana es una zona tropical y sub tropical que ha sufrido durante muchos años los atropellos de los monocultivos de exportación como el banano, cacao, café, caña de azúcar, etc. terminando con gran parte de la agro biodiversidad campesina, donde la lucha se ha tornado más difícil, en los diferentes procesos como recuperación del suelo, de las semillas pero principalmente la recuperación de una cultura biodiversa, estos problemas acompañados del acaparamiento de la tierra en pocas manos, compras injustas y forzadas de los terrenos campesinos posteriormente la explotación laboral de esos mismos campesinos por los terratenientes, hasta ahora hemos logrado avances significativos, muchos pequeños agricultores son autosuficientes en su producción y han mejorado los ingresos familiares, pero sabemos con certeza que aún hace falta mucho, mucho por hacer.
Desde sus inicios la federación ha contado con 4 presidentes los cuales han luchado por sacar a la federación adelante
1) Sr. Richard Tómala del Cantón Balzar.
2) Sr. Genaro Lam del Cantón Naranjal,
3) Sr. Richard Intriago Barreno del Cantón Pedro Carbo
4) Sr. Efrén Román del Cantón Santa Lucia (Presidente Actual)
Los cantones en mención pertenecen a la Provincia del Guayas.
